PSV make major Noni Madueke transfer decision as Chelsea close in on £35m signing

Chelsea are in advanced talks with PSV to sign Noni Madueke for a deal worth around £35million, understands. The English winger will become the Blues’ sixth signing of the January transfer window following the arrivals of Benoit Badiashile and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Following the sale of Cody Gakpo to Liverpool earlier in January, it was understood that PSV were adamant they were not going to sell Madueke in the same window. However, a breakthrough has been made and Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal for the former Tottenham youngster. were told on Thursday that talks had intensified and Madueke was close to completing the switch to Stamford Bridge. It’s expected that the 20-year-old will undergo a medical with the Blues, with him in line to make his debut next Friday against Fulham, should the appropriate paperwork not be completed before 12pm today (Friday) to face Liverpool tomorrow.

With PSV now expected to be without two of the best players, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men are likely to dip into the market themselves to give them the best chance of winning their first Eredivisie title since 2018. Madueke’s departure leaves Ismael Saibari, Anwar El-Ghazi, Johan Bakayoko and Savio as their options out wide, with the quartet contributing to 19 goals between them this season.

And as Madueke flies to London to complete his move to SW6, PSV are said to be monitoring Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma. That’s according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who insists the Dutch side are among many clubs keen on the former Bournemouth man.

The Netherlands international, who spent part of his youth career at PSV, has made a name for himself wherever he’s played with scoring goals. At NEC Nijmegen, he contributed to 31 goals in 46 goals, he scored 17 at Bournemouth and currently has 22 goals in 51 appearances in Spain.

However, under Quique Setien, Danjuma has fallen out of favour and is expected to depart the Estadio de la Ceramica this month. His arrival at the Philips Stadion would allow Madueke to leave and progression in the deal could indicate the success of Chelsea’s raid on PSV.
