Agent OFFICIALLY confirms Italian midfielder wants to sign with Chelsea

Jorginho is keen to put pen to paper on a new contract at Chelsea amid Barcelona interest – according to his agent Jorginho has enjoyed a superb couple of years for club and country, starring in Chelsea’s Champions League win and Italy’s European Championships triumph in 2021, with his performances earning him a Ballon d’Or nomination.

However, there has been a lot of speculation that he could depart the club at the end of the season, and a move to Spain has been mooted for the midfielder, meaning that Graham Potter would need an immediate replacement. Barcelona would be the most likely destination for the player if he did feel like leaving the club – but despite all the rumours – his agent has opened up and admitted that the midfielder is keen to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian international’s agent Joao Santos’, in an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb, as relayed by Evening Standard that his client’s current priority is to extend his stay at Chelsea. Speaking to TMW, he said:

“We are due [to expire] in June. “We prioritise Chelsea and we are moving towards it.”

Look – Jorginho is a world class midfielder that does a decent job in the middle of the pitch for Potter – but he is getting on a bit now and the fear is that he will start declining
