Chelsea bid for Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang as Wesley Fofana stance taken amid Blues interest

Aubameyang bid

Chelsea are confident that their £22m offer for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be accepted as Todd Boehly meets with Barcelona to make progress in the deal. The Blues want to sign the former-Arsenal captain to bolster their front-line and think that a bid of just over £20m might be enough. It comes with the stance that Xavi would still like his striker to stay, but the Catalan club’s financial position is making the window hard to predict.

Casemiro dilemma

Chelsea have a long-term attraction to Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro but the Brazilian is more likely to move to Manchester United. Tuchel could use Casemiro as his answer to the expiring contracts of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho next summer, with the 30-year-old proving to be a stopgap, but there has so far been no action taken despite having looked at the player extensively before.

Rodgers issues Fofana stance

Wesley Fofana could be dropped, says Brendan Rodgers, as the Frenchman pushes to move away from Leicester this summer. The 21-year-old would like a move to Chelsea but so far offers have been declined when Todd Boehly has come calling, and the threat of being dropped will be acted upon if Rodgers doesn’t think his player is in the right state of mind.
