Forget Auba – Tuchel told to sign very impressive 27-goal star for Chelsea in £68M deal
Chelsea have been urged to bring back Tammy Abraham as a main striker because Raheem Sterling doesn’t fill the bill. The 24-year-old hit 27 goals last season following a €40 million transfer to Italy, Helping the Italian side and Jose Mourinho to Europa Conference League glory.
However – there has been alot of speculation in the media that he could make a move back to the Premier League – as a number of clubs – like Chelsea – are very much interested in a possible deal It is claimed that he has a £68 million clause in his contract which clubs can activate if they wish -and with the fact that Chelsea are missing a striker in the squad like him – rumours are all over the headlines.
Abraham joined Roma last summer, while Raheem Sterling moved to Stamford Bridge in the current transfer window – and although football pundit Simon Jordan reckons Sterling is a very good attacker – he doesn’t possess the attacking prowess Abraham does, which is why the Blues should move to re-sign the attacker. Jordan said:
“Both Chelsea and Manchester United need centre forwards, Abraham has scored 17 or 18 goals for Roma last year, I am not sure why he is not in the conversation for Manchester United or Chelsea. “Even sides that clearly have a need for a certain type of player, because I don’t think Raheem Sterling is going to be the answer for Chelsea from a focal point.”
However – they will have a hard time getting a deal done after Abraham admitted he is happy at Roma – he told Corriere dello Sport of the transfer talk he has been generating:
“The first day I arrived at Roma I felt at home. “I’m in no hurry to return to the Premier League because here I can express my way of playing. In Italy I feel happy in every respect. “Believe me, I don’t think about the future, but about the present. “I focus exclusively on the season that is about to begin, because I want it to be even more rewarding than the first I experienced in Italy.”
Look – Abraham is very happy in Italian football and developing very nicely – so to come back now would be a massive mistake Chelsea are a massive club – but now is not the right time to re-join the Blues
